The Mayor's Arts Education Fund

"Visual Arts Challenge Fund"
is a classroom mini-grant program offered to all Hillsborough County public school art teachers. The Fund matches $1 for every school dollar raised for art equipment and supplies up to $1,500.  Current School District of Hillsborough County Public School Elementary and Secondary Art Teachers in partnership with their Principal may apply for funds to purchase equipment and supplies as part of a project for their school art program or to implement a new unit of study or course for their school.  The evaluation of this project must include an invitation to the Unsinkable Krewe of Molly Brown to view the completed project in the form of a classroom visit or exhibit. Copies of receipts for all supplies purchased through the Foundation must be forwarded to the address below. Matching funds provided through this grant are intended for future purchases and will only be issued following verification of school based matching funds as outlined in the detailed budget submitted as part of the application.  All applications must be postmarked by August 18th.

Title 1 Matching Program - Schools with a Title 1 designation unable to raise 100% of their matching contribution can apply requesting additional matching funds from the Foundation.  Additional funding will be at the discretion of the grant selection committee.

Congratulations to all our 2007 Grant Recipients.  In just five the Foundation has helped purchased over $194,000 in musical instruments and art supplies.
