The Mayor's Arts Education Fund

"Musical Instrument Challenge Fund"
is offered to all Hillsborough County public school music teachers. The Fund matches $1 for every school dollar raised for musical instruments up to $1,500.  Current School District of Hillsborough County Public School Elementary and Secondary Music Teachers in partnership with their Principal may apply for funds to purchase instruments as part of a project for their school music program or to implement a new unit of study or course for their school.  The evaluation of this project must include an invitation to the Unsinkable Krewe of Molly Brown to view the completed project in the form of a classroom visit, concert or recital.  Matching funds provided through this grant are intended for future purchases and will only be issued following verification of school based matching funds as outlined in the detailed budget submitted as part of the application.  All applications must be postmarked by August 18th.

Title 1 Matching Program - Schools with a Title 1 designation unable to raise 100% of their matching contribution can apply requesting additional matching funds from the Foundation.  Additional funding will be at the discretion of the grant selection committee.

Congratulations to all our 2007 Grant Recipients.  In just five years, the Foundation has helped purchased over $194,000 in musical instruments and art supplies.
